Creative Event Lighting..in a snow storm

…Well a snow storm is a slight exaggeration, but having prepared for rain, we really hadn’t expected snow. However, the many adventures we had creating the lighting for this event, will be saved for another day. By the time the guests arrived, the snow had stopped falling and the sight that awaited them made all of our effort worth it. Have a look at the video below to see the wedding lighting we used in this Arctic tundra (of Hampshire).

Wedding Marquee Lighting, Hampshire

December only seems like yesterday, as does this wedding party and the wave upon wave of snow which plummeted from the sky.

Setting the lighting within the marquee (see video below) was a challenge we happily took head on. Besides, that was the easy part – the outdoor lighting display would require snow boots and shovels!

St. Paul’s Christmas Lights

Lawerence, the ORA Productions lighting supremo, has been adding sparkle to London’s Christmas lighting. Even with Bob Hoskins on hand to press the button, we all thought Lawrence was the real star of the show; with a spectacular demonstration of architectural lighting. This was also the first use of ORA’s new Avolites Pearl Desk AKA – the thingy that controls the lighting effects.

Basingstoke RFC – Rugby and music for the Air Ambulance

Music and Rugby – we don’t know if they directly mix but when it comes to charitable causes we help when we can! On Wednesday 25th November there will be a few testimonial rugby matches to raise money for the local Air Ambulance. And then after that ORA favourites Frottage will be playing in the clubhouse (9pm approx).

The Reptiles, Nov 13th, Wellington Arms Hotel

ORA Production favourites The Reptiles will be playing at The Wellington Arms Hotel in Stratfield Turgis (on the A33). Tickets can be snapped up on the door for £5.00.

The Reptiles will make Nov 13th a night to remember, but don’t take our word for it -

Silchester Music Festival

ORA Productions provided the complete package for this years Silchester Music Festival. Fromthe lighting, sound to staging and live acts from the local area.

Landirani Live

If there is one great thing about festivals, it is the people we meet and the chance to catch up with old friends. And Landirani Live was no exception. A new festival on the calendar (and we very much hope there are more to follow) was organised by the fab Pip Whately and her team and friends enabled us to have a lot of laughs.

The music involved some 12 acts, varying from a single guitar and vocal set up. This included African drums with a didjeridoo. Other instruments amongst the various acts included a Kora, Glock, Cello, Flute, Zinger and a Cajon! Indeed, many of the instruments we had not come across before so made for an interesting challenge for us ‘soundies’.

Along with the sound PA, ORA Productions supplied the main marquee and staging, as well as the power distribution for the site. And event Pip sent us these kind words:

“I just wanted to say thank you so much for everything – you’ve been amazing! I couldn’t have got through this and made it the success it was without you – not talking bout the kit (which obviously was fantastic!) but the fact you were on the end of the line all the time for me – giving me advice and taking on a complete novice……”

Pirates Party

Another great night with the merry folk from Reading University, this annual event charges off to a noisy start and much singing and dancing.

ORA Productions provided the sound PA, lights and disco whilst supporting our nearly ‘in-house’ band Frottage.
